In Kuala Lumpur, we stayed at Capri by Fraser, Bukit Bintang, which was recently opened in 2022, and we loved it! The hotel is a 43-storey skyscraper with a rooftop pool, which we made sure to try it out!
In reality, this hotel is a kind of a residential as the rooms have a small kitchenette, which could be useful for those with small children or for longer work stays. The hotel also has a games room that we used while waiting for the rain to stop.
In the photo above, taken from the hotel’s pool, you can see what will be the tallest building in Malaysia, and the second tallest in the world, with 118 floors, named Merdeka 118, set to open in 2024.
I highly recommend this hotel; the rooms are brand new and quite spacious, even in the most basic category. The staff were very friendly and even upgraded my parent’s room so we could stay together, and their room had even more incredible views to the Petronas Towers in the background. The breakfast buffet is also quite good.
The hotel is located in the Bukit Bintang area, known as the ‘shopping district,’ and is just an 8-minute walk from the Pavilion shopping centre, and not much further from other shopping centres in the area. It’s also conveniently located a 15-minute walk from Jalan Alor Food street, a must-visit street. You can find more details in the Where to Eat in Kuala Lumpur post.
Although we didn’t use the metro during our short stay in KL, the metro station isn’t far from the hotel, about 750 meters away.
Other hotel suggestions in Kuala Lumpur (based on the research I did before travelling):
KLoé Hotel
This hotel, also located in the Bukit Bintang area, seemed really nice to me, and I only didn’t book it because I thought it had too much decoration, which could be risky for Maria Rita and a matter of time before she broke something. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel feeling with a modern design in Bukit Bintang, consider booking here.
Traders Hotel
Apparently this is the hotel with the best view of the Petronas Towers, and is also offers a free shuttle service to the Suria KLCC shopping centre. The SkyBar on the hotel’s 33rd floor is famous for its tower views, and you can book to go there even if you’re not staying at the hotel. Click here to book Traders Hotel.
